Black Opium cools off white light with Floral Shock

Cult fragrance from the Yves Saint-Laurent house, Black Opium was created in 2014. Today, it has chosen to rewrite its history. Black Opium Floral Shock has just seen the light of day, and is already considered to be the first “solar floral coffee” in history. This creates a real shock wave in the perfume department. It invites you to live fully and to electrify your daily life a little more. So what about the recipe for this new scent and by whom was it made?

Black Opium Floral Shock, the fruit of four perfumers

Black Opium Floral Shock is a very daring perfume whose ambition was to succeed true legends of perfumery. From then on, Yves Saint-Laurent estimated that no less than four perfumers were needed to make such a perfume. Thus, Black Opium Floral Shock is the result of a collaboration between Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Honorine Blanc and Olivier Cresp. This quartet brought together all of their creativity and knowledge to create a perfume with extraordinary solar power. Nathalie Lorson is a perfumer who grew up in Grasse and has always been immersed in the world of perfumery. Thus, the work of odors is almost part of its genetic heritage. Marie Salamagne, for her part, is an artist in her own right. Besides, she is not limited to the art of perfumery but also expresses her creativity in other fields such as painting, music or dance. Honorine Blanc, Lebanese perfumer, has an innate sense of smell recognition associated with a very advanced scientific knowledge. Finally, Olivier Cresp has also been immersed in the world of smells from his earliest childhood. His parents and grandparents cultivated roses and jasmine in particular. It is therefore this combination of knowledge and creativity that we find in the perfume Black Opium Floral Shock. Black Opium Floral Shock, a very contrasting juice

Taking into account the diversity of the origins of this new perfume, you will easily understand that this one has a very elaborate recipe. The result is a very contrasting scent. Black Opium Floral Shock is by far the most sparkling and airy juice in the entire Yves Saint-Laurent collection. This begins with a fresh and fruity breath. Citrus fruits, such as bergamot and lemon, bring here a citrus feeling quickly joined by the juicy and greedy aspect of the pear. Then, a floral heart enters the scene thanks to freesia. This solar plant reinforces the Mediterranean aspect of this fragrance while associating it with orange blossom. Jasmine, in turn, brings more opulence here, a sensation counterbalanced by the clarity of the gardenia. Everything then darkens at its base. It becomes more vibrant than ever.
