The different La Panthère Cartier fragrances

The different La Panthère Cartier fragrances

The Cartier house is one of the most luxurious brands. Initially master-jeweler Louis-François Cartier initially imagined luxury silverware. La Panthère is a fragrance full of history and heritage. The first fragrance from the Cartier house, La Panthère initially saw the light of day in 1987. In 2014, the Cartier house offered a reinterpretation of La Panthère, then fallen into disuse. Having become the emblem of the Cartier house, La Panthère was first of all inspired by Jeanne Toussaint, “Parisian casserole” who became the mistress of Louis Cartier. Having become director of the jewelry department, Jeanne Toussaint thus imagined many jewelry, like La Panthère.

The Panther pushes femininity to its peak

It was therefore Jeanne Toussaint who inspired La Panthère, because she herself was nicknamed so because of her rebellious and indomitable character. Released in 2014, La Panthère is a fragrance that is both floral, woody and oriental, a fragrance full of femininity. You should know that Louis Cartier then saw in this animal, an almost divine incarnation of female rebellion. Mathilde Laurent, perfumer in charge of the composition, wanted to bring out the feline that sleeps in each of us!

The composition will therefore be made around the gardenia, one of the most feminine flowers. The top notes bring together a fruity green blend in the form of a styrallyl acetate molecule, offering nuances of rhubarb, strawberry, apricot and dried fruit. Then, the heart of La Panthère is filled with femininity thanks to the presence of the gardenia. The base will be sensual and will combine oak moss, patchouli and white musks. All the originality of the perfume lies in its bottle which represents a panther’s head sculpted in an ultra-luminous block of glass.

La Panthère Evening Edition, a variation of 2016

Two years after the success of La Panthère, the Cartier brand presents La Panthère Edition du Soir . Always so attractive, the latter is nevertheless more luminous than its elder. Glamorous and wild, La Panthère Edition du Soir is a fragrance that could not be more dazzling. It is also the perfumer Mathilde Laurent who created the composition of La Panthère Édition du Soir, and shows here, the woman under her feline side.

The composition is also built around the gardenia, with an ultra-important floral accord. The base is sensual, even carnal with musks combined with animal notes. On the bottle side, La panthère Édition du Soir is re-appropriating that of its elder. Its geometric silhouette hides the sculpture of a panther’s head in its heart, the feline’s face always being sculpted directly from the glass.

The Panthère saga presents its Eau de Parfum Légère version

In 2015, and faced with the success of La Panthère, the Cartier brand decided to present La Panthère Eau de Parfum Légère . Still as feminine as ever, La Panthère Eau de Parfum Légère is an ultra-luminous fragrance, mainly thanks to the presence of the Tiare flower, a symbol of femininity and exoticism. Here, we understand the influence of Jeanne Toussaint, as well as the importance of the Panthère emblem for the brand. Mathilde Laurent, who has already produced the other two variations, offers here a floral-fawn accord. Top notes fly to green tones associated with those of dried fruits.

The heart is filled with a luminous gardenia which combines wonderfully with the Tiare flower, exotic and vanilla. Notes of jasmine, peach, rose and ylang-ylang are also added. The trail is as woody as it is sensual thanks to the presence of patchouli, oak moss, leather and orris root.

Inspired by the mistress of Louis Cartier, La Panthère is not only an ultra feminine fragrance, but also the emblem of the Cartier house. Since then, this jewel is proudly worn by many personalities. Here, it is the perfumer Mathilde Laurent who composed the 3 La Panthère perfumes. With each version, it brings out the feminine side, but especially the feline side of each woman.
