Azzedine Alaïa is a talented designer who has always taken care to enhance the body of women. His outfits are fabulous and he has established himself over time in the world of fashion, until he becomes a cult designer. Also, keen to refine his outfits even more, he created a perfume. It then takes the name of its creator and is simply called Alaïa Paris. As this is the house’s very first perfume, Azzedine Alaïa wanted to check all the details himself. It is then clear that the result is as brilliant as all the pieces that come out of its workshops.

Alaïa Paris, an invisible link between the woman and the perfume bottle

Alaïa Parisis presented to us in a bottle as elegant as it is surprising. The latter was imagined by designer Martin Szekely. Rectangular in shape, it is entirely designed in translucent black glass. Two of its faces are perforated with an emblematic motif of the Alaïa brand. This evokes an inlay that had been seen, for the very first time, on a leather corset in the 1980s. This very dark cube is then surmounted by a golden cabochon. The contrast is striking. This hood represents a coil of gold thread. This is a nod to Azzedine Alaïa’s very first profession. Its case, meanwhile, takes one of the designer’s favorite shades. It is an intense pinkish beige on which stand out black letters reminiscent of the bottle. Moreover, the latter is also at the center of advertising for this perfume. Indeed, this one draws a parallel between the woman and the perfume bottle itself. Both emerge from black and have many similarities. Even the hair of the woman is reminiscent of the cabochon of the case. To make this spot, Azzedine Alaïa called on several talented artists. The dreamlike hairstyles are signed by Julien d’Ys. The beauty is brought by Guinevere Van Seenus, a supermodel from Boston. Nicolas Godin is the composer who signed the music for the film. Finally, the whole was immortalized by the lens of photographer Paolo Roversi. Azzedine Alaïa called on several talented artists. The dreamlike hairstyles are signed by Julien d’Ys. The scent of a memory of Azzedine Alaïa

By creating this perfume, Azzedine Alaïa wanted to transcribe an olfactory memoryinherited from his grandmother. Indeed, the latter is from Tunisia. He therefore remembers the burning smell of lime walls cooled with cold water. Azzedine Alaïa will say of him: “My perfume comes from afar, it is a source perfume. It does not bear witness to any particular era, but to the emotions of all eras. Also, its scent is at the same time fresh, aquatic and mineral. It opens with spicy notes of pink pepper. Then, it evolves towards more delicacy. We discover in particular the freesia, accompanied by peonies. Her heart is all the more tender and feminine. However, it quickly gives way to a more animal and musky accord. This has nothing to do with the ubiquitous cheerfulness at the start.
