In 2013, Louis-Vuitton acquired Fontaines Parfumées, a country house located in the heart of Grasse and intended to house the creation of the house’s future fragrances, all signed by the brand‘s new nose, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud. . Also, it seems to have masterfully served the imagination of the latter since it is not one but seven essences that will emerge in the Louis-Vuitton house in September 2016. Rose Des Vents, Matière Noire, Mille Feux, Apogée, Turbulences, Dans la Peau and Contre Moi… These are the names of Louis-Vuitton’s new juices. So, focus on one of them: the new feminine perfume called Turbulences.
Turbulences, a contrasting fragrance based on flowers and animal life
Turbulences appears to be a very nuanced fragrance highlighting three main ingredients. The first of these is none other than Grasse jasmine. This little white flower is part of the city’s heritage and is today considered to be one of the noblest ingredients in the entire world of perfumery. Indeed, it takes about an hour of work to harvest 500 g of jasmine. However, it takes 350 kg to obtain 550 g of absolute! No need to go further, you will easily understand why this delicate little product sells for € 70,000 per kilo! Also, it delivers here a delicate and opulent scent without ever being heady. What is more, it is accompanied by another very feminine flower with a more sustained scent: tuberose. Originally from Mexico, the latter was introduced in Grasse in the 17th century. At the heart of Turbulences, it develops a honeyed, waxy, creamy and warm note. In some ways, its flavor is very similar to that of orange blossom. Finally, the whole is further enhanced by a surge of sensuality thanks to the presence of musk. Originally, it was an animal raw material. However, the legislation prohibits the harvesting of this natural gland and its flavor is today exclusively reproduced in the laboratory. The set is thus particularly feminine while not lacking in sensuality. In this sense, Turbulences is a juice that would become almost erotic. The sobriety of the new Louis-Vuitton bottle
Also, if the scent of Turbulences seems somewhat daring, its visual, meanwhile, is much wiser. Indeed, Turbulences is displayed in a cylindrical bottle with a fully transparent base. Its thick and heavy glass gives an impression of solidity. All this gives us a glimpse of the golden color of its juice capable of arousing all lusts. Nevertheless, the whole is contrasted by the addition of a completely black and opaque cap. This highlights the initials of the Louis-Vuitton brand and echoesin the color of its name engraved on its front face. The set is particularly sober and refined and absolutely corresponds to the style of its creator. In this case, the bottle of Turbulences was developed by the Australian designer Marc Newson, one of the most respected of his generation and having worked for very large brands like Ford, Airbus or Apple.
