My Burberry Black, the intensity of the Anglo-Saxon capital in a perfume
Burberry is a great house of creation equally recognized in the fashion sector as in that of perfumery. However, if it owed its existence to only one piece from its entire collection, it would undoubtedly be the brand’s iconic trench coat. When Cristopher Bailey, artistic director of the brand, talks about My Burberry fragrances, he explains that “My Burberry represents the epitome of [the] brand, its ultimate embodiment in terms of fragrance, design and attitude. A fragrance inspired by the iconic Burberry trench coat, he says, must be exceptional in every way ”. Thus, My Burberry Black also appears to be a perfect transcription of the sober and resolutely British elegance of the brand. It must be said that Burberry has always been the most Anglo-Saxon brand in the luxury market.
She claims her belonging to England and lets this shine through in each of her creations. This is precisely what we find in the My Burberry Black perfume. This juice has both the freshness of a London garden after the rain while exploding in a more sustained wake, worthy of all the effervescence of the English capital. Moreover, its floral flavor is interpreted here with modernity. A fragrance by Francis Kurkdjian
As with making the My Burberry perfume in 2014, the eponymous brand once again called on the designer Francis Kurkdjian. He is an essential perfumer of our time. What is more, he was immediately propelled on the front of the stage as soon as he left his school curriculum thanks to the creation of the Male by Jean-Paul Gaultier. Coming from the prestigious ISIPCA perfume school in Versailles, he always tries to develop his perfumes in accordance with his own personality. At the same time rigorous, daring and contemporary, he has a natural taste for beautiful things.
Thus, he does not hesitate to integrate prestigious raw materials in each of his perfumes. Here, Francis Kurkdian seems to have wanted to capture the essence of a London garden at dusk. My Burberry Black releases scents of jasmine associated with the sweetness of a peach. The rose is also worked in a greedy and almost candied way. Finally, My Burberry Black is based on an amber patchouli background.

We announced it to you some time ago, Mr Burberry will make its appearance in April 2016. It is, in this case, a male alter ego to the very famous My Burberry. However, it seems that the Burberry house has decided to spoil its fans even more for the next year. The news has just fallen: a variation of the feminine essence of the house will see the light of day within a few months under the name of My Burberry Black. Far from being diametrically opposed to its predecessor, the latter, however, could not be more sensual.
My Burberry Black, like an air of deja vu
With this new variation of its star perfume, Burberry wants to breathe new life into its feminine perfume department, without transforming it in its entirety. Thus, many similarities are present between the perfume My Burberry and My Burberry Black. Let’s start with its bottle. Indeed, the latter adopts the same square shape as the first opus. It plays on transparency and is particularly refined and elegant. Moreover, all its luxury shines through its golden juice. It is decorated again with a horn-style cap reminiscent of the buttons of the famous iconic trench coat of the house.
Likewise, a nod is made to the inventor of gabardine, Thomas Burberry, who discovered this material in 1856. A piece of this fabric is then tied at the collar of My Burberry Black. However, for the occasion, it does not acquire a beige tint but a deeper and more intense black. This gives it a particularly elegant air, which we will also find on the bottle of Mr Burberry. Here we have a perfect representation of the elegance of Burberry. Moreover, all this English class also shines through the advertising, again appealing to the two muses of the brand, namely Clara Delevingne and Kate Moss. The charm is indeed present and it seems impossible not to succumb to the call of this new essence.
The scent of My Burberry Black
In order to create My Burberry Black, the house again called on perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. The latter also signed the design of My Burberry. However, this time he imagined a more sensual scent. He chose to open it on a particularly light flight. We find in particular the delicacy of jasmine. This very refined ingredient is then coupled with candied rose. Both embody extreme femininity and exude glamorous scents to die for. Then, everything gives way to gluttony and the peach appears in a more velvety impetus.
Enfin, My Burberry Black laisse derrière lui un sillage plus boisé et prononcé. On y sent notamment la présence d’ambre et de patchouli. Ce parfum reste assez simple mais est particulièrement bien orchestré. Il symbolise à merveille l’élégance à l’anglaise et le savoir-faire tout particulier de la maison Buberry. En somme, c’est une très belle réussite et le succès promet déjà d’être au rendez-vous. En l’occurrence, on se rappelle tous du charme incroyable des deux égéries qui ont œuvré pour la brand. En effet, Burberry ne s’était pas offert une mais bien deux égéries, à savoir la belle Clara Delevingne et son alter ego Kate Moss. Toutes deux apparurent plus complices que jamais, simplement vêtue du trench iconique de la maison. En effet, My Burberry était conçu comme étant une représentation olfactive de la veste la plus connue au monde. D’ailleurs, son flacon était accessoirisé d’un nœud en gabardine, matière du célèbre trench inventé en 1856 par Thomas Burberry. Côté senteur, nous étions, là encore, plongés en plein cœur de l’Angleterre. My Burberry est un parfum particulièrement vivifiant et fleuri. Il donne l’impression d’une balade au cœur d’un parc britannique après une averse caractéristique de ce pays. Comme le stipule Christopher Bailey, My Burberry est «l’incarnation de la brand, en termes de senteur, de design et d’attitude. » Aussi, les fans ne s’y sont pas trompés et le succès fut immédiatement au rendez-vous.
Le nouveau My Burberry Black
Aussi, en sortant son nouveau My Burberry Black, Burberry a souhaité rester dans la continuité de son premier opus. Celui-ci incarne également toute élégance à l’anglaise de la brand. On y retrouve le design du tout premier flacon. Son bouchon, façon corne et rappelant les boutons du trench de la maison, est toujours présent. De même, le tissu de gabardine nouée à la main est toujours apposé sur le col de la bouteille. Toutefois, il troque cette fois sa teinte beige contre un noir plus intense. Celui-ci tranche encore davantage avec le tendre jus doré du nectar. My Burberry Black n’en devient alors que plus élégant. Côté senteur, My Burberry Black est annoncé comme étant particulièrement sensuel. Il s’ouvre sur une brassée de jasmin à la légèreté sans pareil. Celui-ci est alors succédé par un bouquet de roses confites particulièrement féminin. Nous avons là la recette par excellence du glamour, particulièrement utilisé en parfumerie de luxe. Puis, le tout se poursuit sur un chemin plus velouté où la pêche apporte une pointe de gourmandise. Enfin, My Burberry Black se clôt sur des tonalités plus boisées et chyprées d’ambre et de patchouli.
