Guerlain reclaims its old bottles
When La Petite Robe Noire made its appearance in 2012, it gave many a feeling of déjà vu, and for good reason … In fact, to create its new bottle, Guerlain was inspired by two old cases of the house. It was more exactly those of L’Heure Bleue of 1912 and Mitsouko of 1919. Both had the same silhouette and came to curl up in a square-shaped bottle but no less feminine, harmonious and endearing. These bottles were embellished with shoulders wrapped around swirls similar to commas. The whole was also capped with a cap that has now become cult, in the shape of an inverted heart. Guerlain’s idea was then to symbolize an impossible love story. A round label with a yellow background was also affixed in their center, revealing the name of these juices in the heart of very elaborate patterns. Finally, the last detail that was important: the bottles of L’Heure Bleue and Mitsouko had a self-cord at their neck, connected to the bottle stopper by a gold seal, according to the Guerlain tradition. Only the color of the juice of these two essences really differentiated them, Mitsouko being thought in a bright yellow slightly darker than that of L’Heure Bleue.
